I am a professor of Biology with broad research interests, including evolutionary ecology, ecological biochemistry, plant reproductive ecology, plant-animal interactions, ecological restoration, physiological ecology, plant pathology, microbiology, foraging behavior, fire ecology, tropical ecology, and conservation biology. The main projects that have taken up most of my time and energy in recent years are the Longleaf pine, American chestnut, and Spicebush projects.
