Predicting School Achievement for Latino High School Students: What Matters Most?

Principal Investigator: Monica Maldonado (Ralph George Scholar)

“My project is focused on investigating what factors are most important in predicting college-going among Latino high school students. I’ll be using a variety of scales to measure factors such as: perceived parent involvement, peer support, acculturation, agency, and demographics. At this point I am in the process of applying for IRB approval. I hope to conduct my study in the fall at Dalton High School, with an estimate of 300-400 Hispanic high school juniors and seniors.”
