Beethoven’s Nightmare Song Analysis by Ryleigh Corcoran. An examination of a deaf band and how it challenged the perceptions of both music and deaf artists in the music industry.

Breakouts in Merchandising within the Music Industry by Amani Pyron. This project explores not only the evolution of merchandising within the music industry but also details the breakout moments where artists provided novel ideas to the mundane.

Digital History Project by Steve Lorentz. Examine the impact of a song hitting the Billboard Top 100 Charts and how that affects a company’s stock price.

Dancing Through Generations by Hailey Reddersen and Grace Hamilton. This project analyzes the impact of the first Just Dance game and how the songs were used to market towards specific audiences.

History of Girl Groups by Emma Cromer, Emma Moore, Hannah McDaniel, and MacKenna Johnson. This project analyzes seven girl groups over 70 years to understand how girl groups – considering their success, image, and music – reflect women’s positions in broader society.

The Evolution of Moshing by Jensen Brown.  This project traces moshing’s roots and transformations throughout history to  demonstrate the vital role crowd participation plays in shaping the spirit and legacy of rock ‘n’ roll.

Purple Haze & Cane Shuga: Six Decades of Drugs and Music by Jasmine Sommer. This project examines how the connection between drugs and popular music has changed over time.

Queer Rock & Roll Artists & Gay Liberation by Alex White.  The project argues that artists who achieved fame during the early movement for gay liberation were not awarded the same ability to be as visibly queer as those who came into the music industry later on.

Rocking Bootlegs by Blake Howard.  This project examines how the market for illegally distributed bootlegs  grew alongside the demand for their legitimately produced counterparts.

Vietnam War Music and their Prevalence in Media by Sam Henslee.  This project analyzes the media has defined “Vietnam War Music” to tell a story about this era to determine if the songs are  about the war.
